The high-risk skin cancer clinic is a specialty care clinic designed for patients at higher risk of developing skin cancers.
We provide treatment to patients who are:
- Candidates for an organ or bone marrow transplant, or have received a transplant
- Diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or Lymphoma
- Diagnosed with four or more skin cancers within the past 12 months
- On long-term medications that suppress the immune system
- Predisposed to a genetic disorder that increases their risk of skin cancer
We provide the following services:
- Electrodessication and curettage
- Intralesional chemotherapy for non-melanoma skin cancer

- Topical 5 fluorouracil field therapy treatments to reduce pre-skin cancers including chemowraps

What to expect from your appointment
We examine your skin and review of your health history. We also check for immunosuppressive medications, and prior sun exposure and skin cancer history. We address any suspected skin cancers. Then, based on the information, we create a tailored plan for you.
We treat current skin cancers by the least invasive methods, such as:
- Electrodessication and curettage (ED&C)
- Intralesional chemotherapy
- Surgical excision or treatment by 莫氏手术
We discuss ways to reduce other skin cancer, including:
- Sun protective measures
- Use of field therapy (5-fluorouracil, photodynamic therapy, etc.)
- Prophylactic oral treatments (acitretin and nicotinamide)
We then plan for follow-up appointments for regular skin examinations.
